DORMITION ABBEY - JERUSALEM ...some impressions...

1) Dying to the old self - saying YES forever to God and to the life
as a benedictine monk.

Surrendering and giving the official final vows.

    Dearest Claudia,

I so love your emails and your beautiful photographs. Your words are so inspirational and uplifting. Thank you so much for keeping in touch with us all. Your photos are able to convey so much of the sacred and the deep, deep silence we can experience in these sanctuaries of peace.

I loved the new pictures. especially two of them. the one with the bible centered in an altar surounded by candles is stunning. You really had a keen eye on that one... the other one that caught my attention is the one with the two monks on the floor. It almost looks like the Ladakhis kowtowing on the floor of the temples of Ladakh...

interesting how I made a connection between two diverse relegions.... either way, they all look quite peaceful.

    saludos,
    Fernando M.

Dear Claudia, BLESSINGS FROM THE LORD!!! I am VERY, VERY happy of hearing about all the beautiful things you have been living, I am SO glad that you look for Jesus' will all of the time, I'm SO glad that you don't decide by impulse and take your time to meditate, to discover what God wants for you and for your happiness: God knows about the way you are holding your desires back, and waiting on Him. I'm sure He loves that of you and He will give you the gift of the answer you need, if you are willing to go wherever His voice calls.

There is a passage in the Bible, in "Cantar de los Cantares" that invites every christian person to follow Jesus to the last consequences. This piece of text is bathed with tenderness and love:

Cantar de los Cantares 2: 10,13
"Mi amado empieza a hablar y me dice:
    Levántate, compañera mía,
y ven por acá, paloma mía.
    Acaba de pasar el invierno,
y las lluvias ya han cesado y se han ido.
Han aparecido las flores en la tierra,
ha llegado el tiempo de las canciones,
se oye el arrullo de la tórtola
    en nuestra tierra.
    Las higueras echan sus brotes
y las viñas nuevas exhalan su olor.
Levántate, amada mía, hermosa mía, y ven."

You have to make a decision and I pray that the Light of the Holy Spirit shines and helps you see with clarity in the darkness of confusion. Remember that in every step you make you will learn something, even if you stumble, even if you fall. Remember there is always a lesson to keep in the heart.

Also, remember that: "my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."(Isaiah 55:8-9). It's absolutely understandable that you find this oportunity quite crazy, out of nowhere, sudden, unarranged and strange: God works in misterious ways. Trust on Him. He wants the BEST for you.

    Peace and Love,

    Andrea
