VIP MICHAEL GLOS VISITS THE DORMTION ABBEY

Jerusalem. Just back from a whole day in Tel Aviv I went to the Dormition Abbey this night... Actually the doors should have been already closed...
but I thought... Anyways I will try to get there... and God, if you
want me to be able to pray there, you will help me... You always find
a way... And as I came.. not only were the gates still open... no,
Abbot Benedikt Lindeman along with Dr. Petra Heldt (holder of the
german award "dt. Bundesverdienstkreuz") and Friar Elias were
waiting for the german minister of economy Michael Glos to arrive any
minute. I was asked to take some pictures... and just 2 minutes later
Michael Glos arrived...

Once again I was amazed how God works... instead of standing infront
of closed doors, he even gave me the chance of meeting one of germanys
most important people... what a grace...

Again I experienced... when I felt in great doubt if anything worked
out... and then surrendered... Gods grace is working unfailingly...
and much greater than we could ever imagine... That - at least for me
- is the most touching...

God is always there... and especially in moments where we do not feel
him... were we wonder where he might have gone... In those moments he
is carrying us on his shoulders... Posted by Picasa

DANKE!

    alles Liebe,

YES, God works in all sorts of not only mysterious ways and I wonder at the many apparent coincidences we meet.

One day if I ever get round to it I will write my memoirs.

I hope Michael Glos can tell Angela Merkel about events in Palestine and he should read my up to date Resume for Bethlehem and surroundings. I will tell Hamdan to send you a copy of it so that you can send it to him, thence to German Kanzler Angela Merkel who is clearly not in the picture.

We must all keep going and use our talents to the full!! God does the rest!!

    All best wishes,
    David.

that reminds me of an old story of a Master and his disciple…..

After the disciple had died, he meets his Master in heaven, and they both take a look back at the disciple’s life.

And his life looks like footprints in the sand…. Two pairs of footprints, Master and disciple side by side … the disciple’s heart is filled with gratitude ..

Further on in the review one pair of footsteps suddenly disappears and only one pair is left …. …

The disciple starts to grieve … and a tear shows in his eyes….

Asked by the Master what he sees, he says:

“My Lord, that was the most difficult phase of my life… is it at all possible that you left me alone at that time ?”

The Master lovingly looked in his eyes and replies: “ You think this one pair of footprints is yours ?

If you look more closely, you will see that these footprints in the sand are much deeper than the ones before….

It was I who carried you in my arms in that very difficult phase of your life…. These footprints, my child, are mine, not yours…. “

After some time the two pairs of footprints are seen again in the sand….

The disciple felt ashamed …. And the he saw and realized…..

The love and gratitude that welled up in his heart towards his Master knew no boundaries….
